The Little Lion Press

So I love fashion, but I have been distancing myself from that world lately. Not because it's bad or anything, but just because as I have grown I am learning more about myself and what it is that I am truly passionate about. Having my son and seeing my siblings have children as well, has really made me appreciate family so much more. I have become so much more passionate about sharing lifes moments with your loved ones. That is why I started The Little Lion Press, it's my new baby and it is the love child of my two passions; design and family.

I named it after my little boy, Laith. Laith is an Arabic name which means 'baby lion' so it just seemed fitting to name my latest venture after him! He's my motivation and why I keep going no matter how hard things may get.

Here are some samples of my work!

Lots of love,

I Want Wednesday - Dolce & Gabbana Acetate Sunglasses

I have a really hard time when it comes to sunglasses. They're all either to big and bug-eyed, or too small and I look like I'm wearing toy glasses. So shopping for them always proves to be a challenge and as much as I used to struggle with this, I finally found my niche - Dolce & Gabbana! They have become the answer to all of my sunglass prayers. They suit me and even if I occasionally humour myself by trying on other brands, it's always Dolce & Gabbana that I come back to. So these beauties just made it to the top of my 'To Buy' list!

What I'm Loving ♥

It's winter in most of the world, except where I live! This is one of those moments where I'm enjoying living in sunny Pasadena. This post is my idea of winter pieces for SoCal and I hope you love them as much as I loved hunting them down! I've missed you all!

oh la la... Rosé [PINK]

The color that started it all. Pink. I thought it was fitting to start it off again on that note. It's been a long time my friends but I am back. Things have changed, things continue to change but I have found a balance and am ready to commit to this in a way that I haven't been able to in a long time. So I got married, move half way across the world, got a job with an amazing non-profit all while struggling to learn how to be a wife and a homemaker in a place far away from everyone I love and everything I know.

So back on topic. Pink! Just saying it makes me think of spring and tea parties. It's feminine but I hate when people say it's girlie because it is more than that. Men in pink are real men in my opinion.

Anyways, this season, make sure you are edgy with your feminine ware. If already mix and match, then you're awesome and if you don't mix and match then you need to get on that bandwagon.

Pink on.

Monday Styling - Basics Updated

I'm going to be doing more styling on the blog, so I hope that that meets with everyones approval. I'll start out with simple styles (my sensible streak for you) and gradually introduce y'all to my more crazy fashion ideas. If you have any occasions you'd like a styling done for, email me and I'll gladly oblige! Honestly, I don't even know if anyone even reads these posts or actually cares, but if you do, let me know I'm not just talking to no one!

Today's look is perfect for the fall, that is if you live somewhere where you're lucky enough to have some fall weather or are travelling somewhere for Eid where it's a bit chilly. I am, and I'm so excited to use some of my new winter items! I love textures for the fall and winter, I think they can really make an outfit. Adding a chunky cuff, an elegant gilet and a statement bag really make your favorite jeans and white shirt pop!

Gothic Fairytale

Happy Friday my pretties! This trend is the combination of all things awesome and so it's a complete treat for me and I hope it will be for you too! Feminine colors, bejewelled accessories, flowy fabrics and shapes are just the tip of the iceberg and just thinking about it all gets me all excited. Ok, maybe I am easily excited but when fashion is so perfectly everything that I love, how can I help but get all worked up! This trend really has a Brothers Grimm feel to it and it has cast a spell on me. The problem I have with a look like this is that high street doesn't always get the luxurious look and feel right, so when you're shopping for bargains make sure it's all spot on and don't over do it! This look can easily go from feminine to dorky so watch out!

I Want Wednesday - Zara Glitter Box Clutch

When I first saw this clutch, I thought it was an Edie Parker and I just had to share it with y'all! Who doesn't want the Edie Parker look that all the celebs are loving especially when that look is at a high street price! Has anyone bought this clutch? Share your stories!

Moto Bombing

Leather jackets. I cannot think of a single time in my life where I heard someone say "I hate leather jackets" and that's with good cause; leather jackets, (or if you call them moto, biker or bomber jackets) are always a perfect touch no matter the decade. Nowadays this trend is within the reach of any fashionista (on any type of budget) I do have to point out that you obviously will not be getting the same quality when you go way cheaper but don't let that turn you off! I bought a leather jacket from H&M and it was a beauty. I got so many compliments on it, so remember to really buy leather with your senses; feel it, smell it, and of course, make sure that it has the look you're going for. Oh and I'm sharing my leather purchase for the fall and I am SO excited to use it! Happy leather hunting!

Perfume of the Month - Calvin Klein Liquid Gold Euphoria

Fashion month is in full swing and in honor of this glamorous month, which is my birthday month btw, I've decided to share my new perfume obsession with you. Calvin Klein Liquid Gold Euphoria is completely perfect for this fall and is going to be my go to scent for this upcoming Eid. I'm actually so picky about my scents, I love florals in the summer and more refined and powdery scents in the winter. This scent is exactly what a fall scent should be, the love child of floral and powdery, delicate and woody. Next time you are next to a Faces, or anywhere else that it is sold, take a smell and let me know what you think!

Tropical Punch

Gonna put the the world away for a minute
Pretend I don't live in it
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away...

So to those who don't know, I'm Palestinian-American by birth but I was born and raised in Kuwait. I am so proud of where my family comes from and this post is dedicated to a place near and dear to my heart-Northern Florida. These items scream beach and summer and everything good about that way of life. I'm going on vacation soon, and it can't be soon enough but till then, I think these words sum up how I feel when I think about what is to come...

My Pink Elephant - May Obsessions

Hello May and summer! It's finally here and I hear you all say "OH NO!" Well we had a good run with a cold winter and an actual Spring this year so let's not complain too much about the heat wave coming our way. So between this season’s new trends and spring collection releases, I had plenty to obsess about this month! Here are some my favorite May treats and incase you didn't know May has always been one of my favorite months of the year, it's very name brings to mind beautiful imagery. Flowers, pastels, flawy fabric and fruity desserts (hey, don't judge! Food is important, especially good food!)

So this month it was easy to put together this post, just a bunch of pretty items with florals and graceful colors oh and Star Wars! I'm a Sci-Fi fan and I am so excited about the new Star Wars movie. I was not a fan of the newer 3 in the series, but I really believe that Disney will bring us back to the golden days of Star Wars.  In short, wear a lot of brights this May, maybe let Elie Saab inspire you (I know he does for me) and don't be afraid to mix and match patterns & bright colors like the super fashionable Helena Šopar.

I Want Wednesday - MSGM Floral Pants

Ok, so yesterday I got busy and didn't have time to post my I Want Wednesday post  but here it is. These pants are just so summery and bright, merely looking at them takes me on vacation! And you know what? They've just inspired a new post - going tropical!

Don't you love it when things work out like that? I had no idea what my next post was going to be, but now I have three! So stay tuned for a tropical post, Mays Obsessions and What I'm Loving!

Kate Moss x Topshop ... The Icon Is Back

"Nothing looks as good as skinny feels." - Kate Moss

Where does one start when it comes to Kate Moss? She's been an industry icon for decades now and just when we all thought she was old news, she's back with a new collaboration collection with Topshop. I have to admit that I'm not really too in love with the collection but I do like that it has a wide variety of styles and so there is something for everyone. These are my favorites and I added prices based on the UK site but I can't promise that they'll be the same here.

The Topshop team have been kind enough to invite me to a special pre-launching of the collection tomorrow morning at the Avenues. I don't know if I'll be able to make it because of work but I'm sure it's going to be great. And what do you think about that little black playsuit!? It's ADORABLE! <3

Makeup Crush - IsaDora

If you know me then you know that I am not loyal to a particular makeup brand so I am always on the lookout for something new that will do the job better. I generally have go-to's (I'll share my current makeup bag with you soon) but I do keep my eyes open. So when this showed up on my door (a big thanks to my friends at Habchi and Chalhoub), I was so excited and I'm being so honest when I say that these did not disappoint. The gloss is lovely and the mascara is just amazing, it doesn't clump and is really lengthening. The blush is so easy to use and gives me a little bit of a glow without looking like a clown, something I've had an issue with blush sticks before.

Their products are fragrance free, clinically test in order to avoid any allergic reactions (as a white girl with sensitive skins that is amazing) and are, of course, not tested on animals. That last item is something that is close to my heart, it's a terrible thing to find out that your favorite products are animal tested... so cruel. But anyways, I'm not 100% sure but I think IsaDora available at Faces but the next time you are looking for something new, make sure you keep IsaDora in mind!

I Want Wednesday - 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Mini

Hey dolls! So running this blog drives me crazy as much as it makes me happy. I love fashion or I wouldn't be doing this to myself and by this I mean subjecting myself to the torturing task of combing through pages and pages of products and finding my favorite trends and items. So I have decided to share with you items that might not necessarily fit in any trend or post I'm working on but I am lusting after in a major way.

So to get this show on the road, I'm gonna start with a bag that I've wanted for such a long time, but have just not taken the plunge; the Pashli mini. Phillip Lim is just brilliant and this bag shows that brilliance and just when you think he wouldn't make improve a good thing, he does! I present you with a polka-dot Pashli mini! Now if only I had some savings....

Femininity on Steroids

Alright, so we live in a world were traditional notions of beauty and grace have become blurred with the edginess of the time. I look at our fashion and see the blend of the past 30 decades and it's so interesting. Whether it's leather leggings or see-thru tops, horoscope items and kaleidoscope pieces, they all call back to older ages but with more sophistication and class than their slightly tackier counterparts.

The Hiatus Ends

Yep, you heard me. This hiatus has officially come to an end. I have decided that I need to get back into the swing of things and after a lot of thinking about the direction that this blog will take, I have come to a conclusion: I don't know where this will go. But that doesn't mean I have to keep waiting till I figure it out. This will change, it will grow and develop into something else, and that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I hate the idea of being restricted, and so I am giving myself free reign. Anything pretty and related goes. So stay tuned for something new, and something old too!

MPE Obsessions - August

Better late than never. August is flying by and that's all I'm going to say. It's so hot and now that we're back to normal working hours all I want to do is manage to get to the cooler months so I don't die of a heat-stroke! I'm a white girl, I'm not made for this kind of weather!!

This months obsessions are all about the fall and changes. They are mostly about where I want to be physically (EUROPE) as well as where I'd like to be just generally in my life, with my own home and family. Who knows, right?  I'm keeping my options open and not sure of what's going to happen but no matter what, I promise I'll always keep blogging!
