Gothic Fairytale

Happy Friday my pretties! This trend is the combination of all things awesome and so it's a complete treat for me and I hope it will be for you too! Feminine colors, bejewelled accessories, flowy fabrics and shapes are just the tip of the iceberg and just thinking about it all gets me all excited. Ok, maybe I am easily excited but when fashion is so perfectly everything that I love, how can I help but get all worked up! This trend really has a Brothers Grimm feel to it and it has cast a spell on me. The problem I have with a look like this is that high street doesn't always get the luxurious look and feel right, so when you're shopping for bargains make sure it's all spot on and don't over do it! This look can easily go from feminine to dorky so watch out!

Moto Bombing

Leather jackets. I cannot think of a single time in my life where I heard someone say "I hate leather jackets" and that's with good cause; leather jackets, (or if you call them moto, biker or bomber jackets) are always a perfect touch no matter the decade. Nowadays this trend is within the reach of any fashionista (on any type of budget) I do have to point out that you obviously will not be getting the same quality when you go way cheaper but don't let that turn you off! I bought a leather jacket from H&M and it was a beauty. I got so many compliments on it, so remember to really buy leather with your senses; feel it, smell it, and of course, make sure that it has the look you're going for. Oh and I'm sharing my leather purchase for the fall and I am SO excited to use it! Happy leather hunting!

Tropical Punch

Gonna put the the world away for a minute
Pretend I don't live in it
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away...

So to those who don't know, I'm Palestinian-American by birth but I was born and raised in Kuwait. I am so proud of where my family comes from and this post is dedicated to a place near and dear to my heart-Northern Florida. These items scream beach and summer and everything good about that way of life. I'm going on vacation soon, and it can't be soon enough but till then, I think these words sum up how I feel when I think about what is to come...

Kate Moss x Topshop ... The Icon Is Back

"Nothing looks as good as skinny feels." - Kate Moss

Where does one start when it comes to Kate Moss? She's been an industry icon for decades now and just when we all thought she was old news, she's back with a new collaboration collection with Topshop. I have to admit that I'm not really too in love with the collection but I do like that it has a wide variety of styles and so there is something for everyone. These are my favorites and I added prices based on the UK site but I can't promise that they'll be the same here.

The Topshop team have been kind enough to invite me to a special pre-launching of the collection tomorrow morning at the Avenues. I don't know if I'll be able to make it because of work but I'm sure it's going to be great. And what do you think about that little black playsuit!? It's ADORABLE! <3

Femininity on Steroids

Alright, so we live in a world were traditional notions of beauty and grace have become blurred with the edginess of the time. I look at our fashion and see the blend of the past 30 decades and it's so interesting. Whether it's leather leggings or see-thru tops, horoscope items and kaleidoscope pieces, they all call back to older ages but with more sophistication and class than their slightly tackier counterparts.

Sheer Takeover

Yes, you heard me, this Spring/Summer it's quite literally a sheer takeover! Opacity is the name of the game and see-through fabrications are cropping up on dresses, skirts, hemlines, and blouses all over the place. As a covered girl, this trend is basically pointless when I'm out since it basically defeats of the purpose of the trend if I have to wear something underneath it but at parties and gatherings it would be such a pretty and feminine touch!

MY TIP: Don't over do it, be tasteful because too much sheerness can come off as trashy!

Enter The Dragon

How hot is this trend? On the surface it' so feminine but if you take a second look, has such an edge. Black and red, juxtaposed with florals and graceful curves; no one does Yin & Yang better than the orient! Try to be classy though and don't overdo the prints or else you run the risk of looking like a cheesy circus act and I mean that in the worse possible way! For some reason people don't believe in practicing restrain, God only knows why. Less can really be more!

MY TIP: You can really hit the nail on the head with this trend by choosing bigger, looser shapes and incorporate prints minimally.

All Lined Up!

The stripe is an impressive fashion ally: vertically it will make you look taller; horizontally it can cleverly narrow the figure. This Spring/Summer season, stripes of all kinds stormed the runways with refreshed vigor. Marc Jacobs entire collection was a play on the stripe, Dolce & Gabbana's playful collection was inspired by the striped parasols on Sicily's beaches, and frankly, I am so ready for this Spring so I can go stripe-happy! So whether worn head-to-toe or added simply as a decoration or an accessory, the stripe is the motif of the season!

MY TIP: If you're brave, try mixing and matching stripes. For the less adventurous, you can always incorporate stripes into your outfit with accessories!

Magic Garden

I know I've been bad about posting but I've been so busy lately, both personally and at work. Honestly, by the time I get home, I just can't stand the idea of looking at a screen any longer! But I promise, I have a few good posts coming up, so bear with me! Now, back to the matter at hand, this is a post I'm personally excited about because I love florals and this season as well as next is simply coated in flowers! I was inspired to create this post after watching one of my all time favorite movies, My Fair Lady. Florals are amazing and you can rock them in so many ways whether you decide to do it the spring way, all fresh and clean with bright daises and poppies or want to wear florals fall style with blooms against a dark and moody backdrop seemingly lit by candle, fire or moonlight. For me, either way works and I can't wait to get my hands on some new floral pieces!

MY TIP: With patterns that are so dense and opulent make sure that you keep it simple and don't try to layer. Sparkle is just unnecessary, and smokey eyes with Black Dahlia-like nails are super hot!
